We can’t heal the world, but we can begin with a voice of compassion, a heart of love, and an act of kindness.

MEET SOPHIA

Sophia C. Grodotzke, MSW, LCSW

Do you feel nervous or often doubt yourself? Have you experienced loss and are finding it difficult to move beyond grief? Do you need help putting back together all of the fragmented parts in order to feel whole again? You have come to the right place. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker committed to providing high-quality mental health care to individuals living in Florida and New York. I have almost a decade of experience working with adults who have experienced some form of grief, trauma, anxiety or depression.

I hold a BA in Psychology from St. Joseph’s University in Patchogue, New York and a Masters in Social Work from Adelphi University in Garden City, New York. Prior to opening my own private practice, I worked as a medical social worker for over six years for the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center on Long Island, New York. During that time, I also served as the facility’s VA LGBTQIA Veteran Care Coordinator.

My approach to treatment is person-centered, considering each client's unique needs, strengths, and goals. I believe in empowering clients, fostering a collaborative, therapeutic relationship, and providing education to support their journey toward mental well-being. As a clinician, I approach therapy from humanistic and behavioral perspectives, while utilizing components of psychodynamics to explore how early life events may have contributed to current behavioral patterns.

My goal as a therapist is to create a safe space for you to freely and openly express your thoughts and feelings about life's complexities. The hardest part is reaching out and asking for help. You have already taken a huge step forward just by reading this. I encourage you to contact me and we can figure out the rest together.

I am EMDRIA-trained in EMDR and licensed to practice in Florida and New York. I am currently accepting new clients for online therapy.
